About the speakers:
Walters & Cohen
Architects Michál Cohen and Cindy Walters founded the award-winning practice Walters & Cohen in 1994. The company has designed 50 primary and secondary schools with 32 completed or currently in progress. Around 70 per cent of Walters & Cohen’s workforce is female – as are three out of the four company directors. The practice was awarded the first AJ Woman Architect of the Year award for the consistent quality of their architecture, combined with the ethos of the practice, and the duo’s active involvement with the RIBA and in teaching and examining at architecture schools.
Gabrielle Omar, Lolli & Square
Architect Gabrielle Omar is currently director of three businesses, including architecture practice, Lolli and Square and creative design and print agency, We Be 3. Omar recently appeared in 10 out of 12 episodes of eighth series of The Apprentice. Omar believes architects must learn better marketing and branding skills to be successful.
